Professional Longboard Association Ready to Kick Off Gidget PLA Pro and Ventura Pro Classic

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 23 April, 2009 : - - With the swells rolling into Ventura Beach California at the right time, the Professional Longboard Association is ready to kick off the 2nd annual Gidget PLA Pro and Ventura Pro Classic presented by Noho Surf Trainer.  The PLA which is in its second of five events of the 2009 season has been hard at work adding sponsors to help build the events for both Pro Men and Pro Women divisions.

An announcement earlier this month, saw the PLA partner with Gidget Worldwide as the Title sponsor to the Pro Women’s division, allowing the PLA to raise the LQS rating to a 2-star event series, while on the Pro Men’s Division the PLA has recently partnered with NoHo Surf Trainer for the presenting sponsor to the Ventura Pro Classic, and remaining on as a key sponsor for the remainder of the season.

“I am excited and honored to be the presenting sponsor for the Professional Longboard Association’s Ventura Pro Classic. We are dedicated to teaching people how to surf, and I can’t think of a better way than partnering with the PLA to help build our brand in the surf community. The PLA will kick off the events on Saturday morning, seeing the opening round of the men’s competition get under way, as well as the complete Gidget PLA Pro event take place throughout the day. On Sunday the Men’s seeded rounds through finals will be held.
